EMRS Telangana Shines Nationwide

MRS Telangana has achieved a historic milestone by winning the Overall Championship, Overall Team Championship, and Overall Individual Championship at the 4th EMRS National Sports Meet 2025, held in Rourkela, Odisha, from 11th to 15th November 2025. A strong contingent of 580 student athletes and 68 escort teachers represented Telangana with immense pride, showcasing outstanding skill, discipline, and sportsmanship throughout the competition. Their exceptional performances across multiple sporting disciplines resulted in a record-breaking medal tally for the State. EMRS Telangana secured a total of 272 medals, including 88 Gold, 66 Silver, and 76 Bronze medals. With 230 medals contributing to a total of 714 points, Telangana emerged as the Overall Champion, dominating both individual and team events.

The Secretary of TGEMRS, Hyderabad, Smt. K. Seetha Lakshmi, I.A.S., attended the National Sports Meet and motivated the participants, playing a crucial role in inspiring the students to achieve this remarkable feat. The closing ceremony was graced by distinguished dignitaries, including Shri Mohan Charan Majhi, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Odisha, Shri Jual Oram, Hon’ble Union Minister of Tribal Affairs, and Shri Ajeet Kumar Srivastava, IRAS, Commissioner, NESTS. All the dignitaries appreciated the hard work, dedication, and exceptional performance of the Telangana contingent and congratulated them for bringing national glory to the State.

The Government of Telangana has extended heartfelt congratulations to all the participating students, coaches, escort teachers, and EMRS staff. This historic achievement stands as a testament to the State’s continued commitment to strengthening sports infrastructure, training facilities, and opportunities for students of Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS). EMRS Telangana’s extraordinary national-level success serves as a shining example of sporting excellence and will continue to inspire tribal students across the State to strive for national and international recognition.
